Speaker of the Seimas, Loreta Graužinienė, has offered her deepest condolences to the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, Zhang Dejiang, for the tragic events during the earthquake, where more than three hundred human lives were lost.
“Dear Mr Chairman, on behalf of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and the whole Lithuanian nation, may I offer you my deepest condolences for those who were killed in the Yunnan earthquake. The numerous human losses are grave reminders of the inherent negative power of nature.”
In her condolence letter, Loreta Graužinienė, Speaker of the Seimas, says she believes that the consequences of the natural disaster will be successfully managed by the concerted efforts of the citizens of the People’s Republic of China, while the shared pain for the casualties will reduce the pain of the loss. She wishes the grieving families and friends stamina and perseverance.
