Speaker of the Seimas, Loreta Graužinienė, welcomed participants and guests of an international conference Television and Radio: Challenges of Today. The Speaker noted in her welcome address that the topic of this conference insightfully points to the relevance of the challenges faced by the media in the context of the development of information technologies and current geopolitical changes.

“I am certain how vitally significant it is to strike the balance between the objective to limit the impact of hostile propaganda and to protect national interests, and the necessity to ensure that principles of democracy and freedom of speech are upheld,” said the Speaker wishing the participants smooth and productive work.
The conference organised by the Radio and Television Commission of Lithuania aims at promoting cooperation between different institutions and countries in the field of electronic media. The conference is attended by regulators in the field of audio-visual media services, law and media experts from Poland, Latvia, Estonia, and Ukraine.
