Press Release, 20 November 2014
Loreta Graužinienė, Speaker of the Seimas, has met with Urban Ahlin, Speaker of the Riksdag of the Kingdom of Sweden. During the meeting, the parliamentary leaders discussed Nordic-Baltic co-operation and development of and prospects for inter-parliamentary and economic relations and shared insights into the complex geopolitical situation in the region.

“Today Lithuania and Sweden have very good economic relations, and our countries are cooperating in all areas. Lithuania has always given priority to the Nordic countries, especially in business and economics. I am therefore pleased that the Speaker of the Swedish Parliament is positive about the progress made by Lithuania and the other Baltic countries during the independence period and about our consistent and purposeful orientation towards the Nordic countries where business is more open and corruption is successfully curbed,” said Ms Graužinienė.
Mr Ahlin, who has recently become the Speaker of the Riksdag, has chosen Lithuania for his first visit abroad.
