After the parliamentary elections in Estonia in early March, the newly elected Riigikogu of the Republic of Estonia will be headed by Eiki Nestor. Loreta Graužinienė, Speaker of the Seimas, congratulated the President of the Riigikogu, commending the trust placed in him once again and wishing him success in his work.
“I take sheer pleasure in sincerely congratulating you, on behalf of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and on my own behalf, upon your re-election as President of the Riigikogu of the Republic of Estonia. I take this opportunity to wish you efficiency and creativity in your work and every success in reaching the established objectives.
I am convinced that the trust placed in you once again by the Riigikogu of the Republic of Estonia will allow you to continue the work in progress. Concurrently, it will expand the window of opportunity to further advance the dynamic cooperation both at the bilateral level in terms of cooperation between Lithuania and Estonia, and at the multi-lateral level in the framework of the Nordic – Baltic dialogue,“ the leader of the Lithuanian parliament wrote in her congratulatory letter.
The political experience of the President of the Riigikogu of Estonia amounts to two decades. A year ago, during his first tenure as President of the Estonian parliament, he chose Lithuania to be the first country to which he paid an official visit.
