The Memorial at the buildings of the Seimas perpetuates the memory of the defenders of freedom and the events of 13 January. The remaining fragment of the barricades at the Seimas buildings was integrated into the Memorial. The barricades, wooden column shrines and a column shrine bearing a statuette of Virgin Mary were covered with a spatial glass structure. Photographs of the defenders of freedom who perished in 1991 were also mounted inside it.
