Ms Graužinienė underlined that new challenges to Europe and the world should lead to ever deeper unity of the European Union (EU) and more rapid European integration of Eastern Partnership countries. Being positive about the reforms carried out in Georgia and preparation for visa liberalisation with the EU, the Speaker of the Seimas stated that currently Georgia should place a high premium on keeping up the pace of reforms and further strive for European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
It was highlighted that Lithuania and Georgia open a new page in their cooperation every day. The Speaker of the Seimas also underscored active support provided by Lithuanian experts, development cooperation projects carried out by Lithuania in Georgia, and joint activities of young people with active involvement of Georgians studying in Lithuania. According to the Speaker of the Seimas, this shows the special connection between our countries and bright prospects of future relations between Lithuania and Georgia.
It is planned that Ms Graužinienė will visit Georgia in May 2016 to take part in the celebrations dedicated to the 25th anniversary of restoration of Georgia’s independence.
