Loreta Graužinienė, Speaker of the Seimas, congratulated Eiki Nestor, President of the Riigikogu of the Republic of Estonia and the Parliament headed by him, on the 25th Anniversary of the Restoration of Estonia’s Independence.
“The brutal repressions carried out by the Soviet Union against Estonian people failed to quench the idea of freedom and desire to live in an independent state. In the late 1980s all the three Baltic States rose jointly to the fight for freedom. The feeling of unity encouraged us and gave us confidence. Therefore, let us use it as the basis for our bilateral relations now again, when facing the challenges of these days,” wrote Loreta Graužinienė in her congratulatory letter, wishing success and productive work to the President and Members of the Riigikogu, and prosperity to the Estonian nation.
