Loreta Graužinienė, Speaker of the Seimas, is currently on an official visit to the German Federal Republic. Today the Speaker is meeting Prof Norbert Lammert, President of the German Bundestag; Michael Roth, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office; and Alois Karl, Chair of the Bundestag’s Parliamentary Friendship Group for Relations with the Baltic States. The delegation headed by the Speaker will visit the Plenary Hall of the German Bundestag.
During the visit, Loreta Graužinienė already had a meeting with Norbert Kartmann, President of the German Federal State of Hessen, and Carina Gödecke, President of the German Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia. Apart from discussing the political and cultural relations between Lithuania and the German Federal States of Hessen and North Rhine-Westphalia, the meeting greatly focused on closer economic relations.
“We have already had numerous talks in Germany. They have revealed that there is significant room to further deepen cooperation between Lithuania and Germany by attracting far more German investors and innovative technologies and by increasing the exports of Lithuanian goods to the country,” Loreta Graužinienė, Speaker of the Seimas, stressed.

Having visited the ANUGA 2015, one of the biggest German trade fairs in Cologne, and having taken a look at the exhibition area of Lithuanian enterprises, the Speaker of the Seimas said she believed that Lithuanian goods held great potential to win German and other markets of Germany.
As the Speaker visited the Lithuanian February 16 High School in the town of Huttenfeld, she highlighted the special role that the High School played to promoting and preserving the Lithuanian identity. The politician is convinced that the active community of the Lithuanian February 16 High School has greatly contributed to constant cultural exchange between Germany and Lithuania.
After the guided tour of the Lithuanian February 16 High School, the delegation under the leadership of the Speaker of the Seimas had a meeting with Dalia Henke, leader of the Lithuanian World Community, and Community members.
