Loreta Graužinienė, Speaker of the Seimas, expresses her gratitude for the successful take-over of the lead role in NATO's Air Policing Mission in Lithuania

Loreta Graužinienė, Speaker of the Seimas, welcomed the newly appointed Hungarian Ambassador, Zoltan Jancsi. The Speaker used the opportunity to congratulate the Ambassador on the Hungarian National Day, as the 23rd of October, which marks the Hungarian Uprising, is a very important day for Hungary.

The Speaker of the Seimas expressed her gratitude to Hungary for having successfully taken over the lead role in the NATO Air Policing Mission from Norway as of 1 September 2015.

Moreover, the Speaker and the Ambassador discussed the cooperation between Lithuania and Hungary on EU and NATO levels. During the meeting, much attention was devoted to the refugee problem and solutions to the migration crisis.

Mrs Graužinienė also underlined that there still remained a lot of untapped potential in the areas of science, investment, innovation and education in particular.

 

In 1989, Zoltán Jancsi started to work at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he held various responsible positions at the Consular Department. He served in the Prime Minister’s Cabinet and was Director for NATO and EU affairs at the Hungarian National Security Service. Before his appointment to Lithuania, Zoltán Jancsi served as Consul in Bulgaria and Australia and Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates. He commenced his duties in Lithuania on 14 October 2015.
