Speaker of the Seimas, Vydas Gedvilas, met with Vladimir Matek, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Lithuania.

Mr Gedvilas expressed his appreciation of the good relations between the two countries and Croatia’s upcoming membership of the EU as of 1 July which coincides with the start of the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Lithuania will hold the presidency of the largest EU in its history while Croatia will join the European family.
“This is a historical moment for both countries. I am happy about Croatia’s constructive leadership in the region and I hope your country will help other countries of this region in their EU integration process”, the Speaker of the Seimas said during the meeting.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Lithuania, Vladimir Matek, expressed his gratitude to Mr Gedvilas for his visit to Croatia, the award given to Croatia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vesna Pusić, and for the opening of the office in Zagreb.
