Speaker of the Seimas Arūnas Valinskas received Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina Muhamed Hajdarevic.
The Seimas Speaker positively commented on strengthening political relations between Lithuania and Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed a hope that they would intensify. Mr. Valinskas also referred to stronger bilateral economic relations.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a significant country for foreign investment in the Western Balkans. Lithuanias investments prove the fact. I believe that its only an interim stop for further development of the relations, the Head of the Parliament claimed.
Mr. Valinskas confirmed Lithuanias position to support Bosnia and Herzegovina in seeking membership of the EU and NATO. The Speaker of the Seimas pointed out that Lithuania would kindly share its experience in acceding Euro-Atlantic organisations and provide not only a friendly advice, but also expert consultations.
We congratulate Bosnia and Herzegovina on signing the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU. Im certain that this agreement will be shortly ratified in the Seimas. The fact that the country heads in the same direction as Lithuania is welcome. The more small voices join a chorus, the bigger chance there is for them, in defending their interests, to be heard by the great ones, the Speaker of the Seimas asserted.
