25 February
Speaker
of the Seimas received Hungarian Ambassador Péter Noszkó-Horváth.
The Head of the Parliament pointed out that he
saw the potential for intensifying the bilateral relations. According to Arūnas
Valinskas, taking into account the approaching Lithuanian and Hungarian
presidencies over the European Union and the increasing role of both national
parliaments, both countries should initiate a more active cooperation of the
Committees on Foreign Affairs and European Affairs.
The Speaker of the Seimas was wondering about
the current economic and financial situation that Hungary is facing, and
emphasised that today sharing experiences could play a significant role.
When looking for ways out of the financial
difficulties, it is considerably important to take account of mistakes made by
others so that to avoid making them ourselves. The entire Europe is now in
search for the perfect recipe, and those who will finally find it will lead the
way for other countries, Head of the Seimas said.
