Speaker of the Seimas opened a Business Forum in Tbilisi

4 March

“We have duly prepared for this meeting,” Speaker of the Seimas Arūnas Valinskas stated in the opening speech at the Lithuania-Georgia Specialised Business Forum on the Development of Construction and Infrastructure held in Tbilisi.

Mr. Valinskas emphasised that the Lithuanian entrepreneurs are highly interested in the Georgian market, although it is clear that in order to do business in a foreign country, it is crucial to properly evaluate and assess business risk that is predetermined by certain dominant political powers, political will, bilateral political relations and many other factors. Therefore, the state’s assistance and aid to entrepreneurs in the search for appropriate models of business development can be considerably useful.

The Speaker of the Seimas stated that he sees Georgia as an attractive business and trade partner that has many resources not only in its nature but also in governmental structures. Mr. Valinskas holds the view that the cooperation of entrepreneurs from both countries would bring mutual benefits, since some entrepreneurs are looking for new markets for its business while the others want a closer cooperation with the European Union Member States.

During his official visit to Georgia, the Speaker of the Seimas was accompanied by a large delegation of the Lithuanian entrepreneurs. The scope of interests of these entrepreneurs was wide and ranged from the building of roads and bridges, the provision of consultations on the issues of energy saving of buildings and their renovation to the making of furniture for schools and kindergartens.
