Young experts will help to prepare for and fulfil the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union

Mr Stasys Šedbaras, Chairman of the Seimas Committee on Legal Affairs, and Mr Jonas Milerius, Secretary General of the Seimas, met with future trainees from Lithuanian public sector institutions who are participating in the programme for young experts titled Create for Lithuania. The meeting was also attended by Ms Loreta Raulinaitytė, Senior Adviser to the Secretary General, Ms Ieva Bružytė, Chief Specialist of the Office of the Secretary General, Ms Judita Kaminskienė, Acting Head of the Personnel Unit, and Ms Jurgita Naujikienė, Head of the Training and Assessment Division, Personnel Unit.
Create for Lithuania is the first programme for the Lithuanian public sector targeting Lithuanian graduates who have completed their higher education studies abroad. The programme is to last 12 months during which its participants will rotate every 4 months to work in different public sector institutions and participate in the implementation of key projects carried out by the institutions.
The opportunities for the participants of the Create for Lithuania programme to undergo a traineeship in the Seimas were discussed at the meeting. The work of the MPs, Seimas committees, and Office of the Seimas were also covered at the meeting. The meeting focused considerably on the preparation for parliamentary events of the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Hopefully, the future trainees of the Create for Lithuania programme will successfully contribute to the organisation of the events.
The trainees of the Create for Lithuania programme are expected to undergo their traineeship in the Office of the Secretary General, International Relations and Communications Departments, as well as the Offices of the Committee on Environmental Protection and Committee on Social Affairs and Labour of the Seimas.
