Fourteen days to the beginning of the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the historical building of the Seimas is decorated with 33 flags of the EU member states and candidate countries and the flag of the European Union. These symbols will adorn the exterior of the Parliament throughout the Presidency from 1 July to 31 December 2013.

On the occasion of the events of the parliamentary dimension of the Presidency, special elements of the interior of the Seimas are also being designed. The key moments and phenomena in the building of the Lithuanian state, the history of parliamentarianism and the development of the Lithuanian nation, as well as Lithuania’s historical ties with Europe will be presented to the guests of the Seimas.

he expositions, prepared in cooperation with the scientific and cultural institutions, aim to creatively reflect the historical, artistic, cultural and philosophic memory, reveal the predominant trends of professional fine arts in Lithuania and demonstrate both the unique Lithuanian culture and strong targeted activities related to the interpretation, appreciation and preservation of Lithuanian artists and their heritage.
