By letter of 21 January 2014, 35 members of the Group for Inter-Parliamentary Relations with Ukraine applied to the Embassy of Ukraine, expressing their concern over the outbreak of violence against protesters in Ukraine, and urged to repeal the laws restricting the possibility to protest. Members of the Group noted that the use of force against protesters is unacceptable, and therefore the Ukrainian government must explore democratic ways to stabilise the situation in the country. Showing their solidarity, members of the Group for Inter-Parliamentary Relations with Ukraine expressed their support for peaceful protesters.
