A delegation headed by Vitor Caldeira, President of the European Court of Auditors, will visit the Seimas on 16 September 2014. The delegation will take part in the conference which is organised by the Seimas Committees on Audit, on Budget and Finance and on European Affairs in cooperation with the European Court of Auditors. The conference will discuss issues related to accountability and public audit in Europe and Lithuania and will promote relevant democratic developments.
Before the conference, at 9.50 a.m., the guests will be received by the Seimas Speaker Loreta Graužinienė. The meeting which is aimed at discussing public audit and accountability issues will be attended by Gediminas Kirkilas, Deputy Speaker of the Seimas; Jolita Vaickienė, Chair of the Committee on Audit; Bronius Bradauskas, Chair of the Committee on Budget and Finance; and Donatas Jankauskas, Deputy Chair of the Committee on Audit.
After the meeting, at 10.30 a.m., Loreta Graužinienė, leader of the Lithuanian parliament, and Vitor Caldeira, President of the European Court of Auditors, will answer the questions of journalists at the Office of the Speaker of the Seimas.
The conference Challenges in Accountability and Public Audit will open in the Constitution Hall at 10.45 a.m. The conference will be broadcast live on the Seimas internet website and the TV channel LRT Kultūra.
