The Seimas imposes penalties for the sale of energy drinks to minors

With 90 votes in favour and 5 abstentions, the Seimas adopted amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences (draft No XIP-1734(4)) regulating the responsibility for the sale of energy drinks to minors.

The Code provides that the sale of energy drinks to persons under 18 years of age will draw a fine from LTL 200 up to LTL 400; the purchase or any other transfer of energy drinks to persons under 18 years of age will draw a fine from LTL 50 up to LTL 200.

The amendments will take effect from 1 November 2014.
