Among the key events in 2014, Ms Graužinienė mentioned the completed project on the LNG terminal, which ensured the countrys energy independence from Russia, and the successful preparation for the introduction of the euro.
I believe that as of now the single currency will encourage Irish and Lithuanian entrepreneurs to further intensify their cooperation and will open up new opportunities for a strengthened partnership, said Loreta Graužinienė.
Then, the Irish Ambassador David Robert Noonan welcomed a strong Lithuanian community in Ireland. According to the diplomat, the Lithuanian community in Ireland is viewed favourably and it has been fully integrated into society. Thus, it should also be involved when developing joint bilateral projects and mutual economic and trade relations.
Finally, Loreta Graužinienė, Speaker of the Seimas, expressed her thanks for the Irish support for Lithuania to become a member of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.
