Born on 9 December 1939 in Kėdainai region.

On 22 May 1949 was deported to Krasnojarsk region together with her parents.

1964 - finished Krasnojarsk Financial technical school.

1967 - graduated from Leningrad (St Peresburg) Institute of Finance and Economics, returned to Lithuania and worked in "Audėjas" factory as a financier, taught at Vilnius University.

1972-1975 - a post graduate student at Vilnius University.

Doctor of Economic sciences.

Till 1991 - a reader of the Department of Finance at the Institute of Training Specialists in National Economy.

1991-1992 - Minister of Finance of The Republic of Lithuania.

Since 1992 - member of the Seimas, elected in Šilalė-Šilutė electoral district No. 34.

Member of the Council of the Community of Political Prisoners and Deportees.

Speaks the Russian language.
