Biography
Born in Vilnius on 17 May, 1954, into a family of journalists.
Finished Vilnius Salomėja Nėris school in 1972. Graduated from the Department of cybernetics and finance, the specialisation of statistics of Vilnius University. Worked at the Central Board of statistics of Lithuania as a chief economist. In 1990 - Head of the Department for Economic Relations with Foreign Countries of the Lithuanian Department of Statistics at the Government of the Republic of Lithuania. Elected to the Seimas in 1992. In 1989 was a candidate to the CPSU. Joined the Lithuanian Democratic Labour Party in 1990. In 1992 was elected member of the Council of city of Vilnius, later - a member of the Council of the Party, its Deputy Head. Speaks English and Russian. Divorced. Has two children. Member of the Seimas delegation to the Interparliamentary Union. Member of the Seimas Parliamentary Women's Group. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with Tibet. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with Canada. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with the Ukraine. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with North European Countries (Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden).
