Born on 25 March 1938 in Vilnius region into the family of farmers.

In 1968 graduated from the Lithuanian State Conservatory (currently - the Academy of Music). Worked at a secondary music school as a teacher of music for 13 years. In the same year started work at Nemenčinė secondary school as a teacher of music and religious education.

Studied theology the Department of Pope Theology. Former member of the Catachetic Commission of Vilnius diocese.

Member of the Seimas since 1992. Worked in the Culture, Science and Education Committee.

In 1991-1994 - Chairman of the Board of the Lithuanian Polish Union.

Collector and promoter of folklore of Vilnius region, leader of the Polish ensemble "Wilenszczyna" (gave concerts in Belgium, Holland, Denmark, France, Germany, England and the USA). Has published several collections of songs and music textbooks.

Member of the Lithuanian Polish Union.

Married.

Member of the Seimas Delegation to the Interparliamentary Union.
