Biography
On 8 February 1949 in Kaunas.
1972 - graduated from Kaunas Polytechnic Institute as an electrical engineer. 1972-1992 - worked at the Institute of designing Industrial Construction as a chief engineer. 1990-1995 - deputy of the Municipal Council of Kaunas Self-government. 1993-1995 - head of the Homeland Union -Sąjūdis Faction. 1995-1997 - member of Kaunas city Council, Deputy head of the Department of Social Care. 1992-1995 - Co-ordinator of the Industrial Territorial Group of Deputies of the Kaunas City Council . 1995-1996 - member of the Kaunas City Board, Chairman of the Committee of the City Economy. 1995 - Chairman of the Committee of Support of the Independence of Chechenia in Kaunas, Chairman of Sąjūdis Council of Kaunas Branch. Since 1993 - member of the Homeland Union (Lithuanian Conservatives), member of the Co-ordination Council of Homeland Union (Lithuanian Conservatives) of Kaunas district. Speaks English and Russian languages. Wife Zita is an engineer economist, son Audrius is a student of Vytautas Magnus University, daughter Rita is a student of Kaunas University of Medicine. Member of the Seimas Delegation to the Baltic Assembly. Member of the Seimas Delegation to the Interparliamentary Union. Chairman of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with the Chechenia Republic. Chairman of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with the Czech Republic. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with Kuwait. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with the Republic of Poland. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with North European Countries (Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden).
