Born on 11 September 1942, in Alytus region.

In 1959 - finished Simnas secondary school.

Studied at Kaunas Polytechnic Institute (currently - Technological University) and acquired the specialisation as a road engineer.

Worked at Zarasai Road Administration as a superintendent.

In 1967 - chief engineer at Prienai Road Administration.

In 1980-1994 - head of the Siberian object of Lithuanian Road Administration.

In 1994 - returned to Lithuania.

Member of the Homeland Union (Lithuanian Conservatives).

In 1955 - elected member of Prienai region Council and Mayor of the region.

Speaks English and Russian languages.

Married. Has two sons.

Member of the Seimas Delegation to the Interparliamentary Union.

Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with Italy.
