Born 9 August 1936 in Lazdijai region, the village of Dainaviskiai.

In 1954 finished Veisėjai secondary school.

In 1954-1960 - studied medicine at Vilnius University.

In 1960 - worked at Kretinga Region Central Hospital

On 25 March 1995 - became member of Kretinga region Municipal Council, Chairman of the Health and Social Affairs Committee.

Member of the Lithuanian Union of Political Prisoners and Deportees.

Till autumn 1997 belonged to the Seimas Democratic Parliamentary Group.

Speaks English and Russian languages.

Married. Has a daughter and a son.

Member of the Seimas Delegation to the Interparliamentary Union.
