Biography
Born on 14 March 1958 in Plungė region.
Attended Plungė secondary school No. 4 and studied at the Department of Physics of Vilnius University. After Sąjūdis (reform movement) had been formed became engaged in its activity. In 1991- started the career of a professional politician and worked as an advisor to the Prime Minister. In 1992-1993 - was assistant to a Seimas member Tautvydas Lideikis. In 1994-1995 - executive secretary of Sąjūdis, later - member of the Sąjūdis Council. In 1995-1996 - member of the Municipal Council of Vilnius. Member of the Homeland Union (Lithuanian Conservatives) since its establishment. Speaks English and Russian languages. Married. Has two daughters. Member of the Commission of Representatives of the Seimas and American Lithuanian Community. Member of the Seimas Delegation to the Interparliamentary Union. Chairman of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with Japan. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with the USA Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with North European Countries (Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Sweden). Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
