Biography
Born on 25 June 1955, in the region of Panevėžys, the village of Šilai.
In 1973 finished secondary school. In 1977 graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Agriculture (currently the University of Agriculture) as an economist-accountant. In 1977-1979 worked at the Union Žemūktechnika in Pasvalys. In 1979-1980 worked on Saboniai collective farm in the region of Pasvalys. In 1980-1992 - chief accountant of Karolis Požėla collective farm in Pakruojis region. In 1992-1995 - controller at the State Control Department. In 1995 - Mayor of the region of Pakruojis. Member of the Lithuanian Christian Democratic Party. Chairwoman of the Womens Catholic Society of Pakruojis region. Hobbies - reading poetry and communicating with children. Favourite sports -table tennis. Speaks English, French and Russian languages. Husband Anicetas is a veterinary surgeon. The family has two sons - Povilas and Viktoras. Member of Seimas Delegation to the Interparliamentary Union. Member of the Parliamentary Group of Lithuania and the Republic of Austria. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with the Republic Italy. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with the Republic of France Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with North European Countries (Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Sweden).
