Biography
Born on 20 March 1940 in Vilnius.
1958-1963 - studied at Vilnius Pedagogical Institute and was trained as a teacher of the Lithuanian language and literature. 1965-1968 - Assistant at the Department of Philosophy at Vilnius Pedagogical Institute (currently - Pedagogic University). 1968-1971 - post-graduate student at the Department of Philosophy of Vilnius University. 1971-1972 - senior teacher at the department of Philosophy of Vilnius Pedagogical Institute. 1973-1987 - senior research worker at the national Scientific Technical Library, the Lithuanian Institute of Information, Head of the department. 1988-1989 - senior research worker of the Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Law. 1989-1991 - Head of the sector at the Pedagogical Institute. 1992 - Director. Doctor of Humanities. Member of the Lithuanian Council of Science (1992-1993). Published over 150 scientific articles, wrote 10 books. Member of the Homeland Union (Lithuanian Conservatives). Speaks English, French and Russian languages. Wife Ona Zinaida. The family has a son and a daughter. Member of the Seimas Delegation to the Assembly of Members of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. Member of the Seimas Delegation to the Interparliamentary Union. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with Italy. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with France. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with Poland. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with Tibet.
