Biography
Born in Lazdijai region, the village of Monkūnėliai, in 1952, into the family of farmers..
Finished secondary school in Seirijai. In 1975 graduated from, Kaunas Polytechnic Institute (currently Technological University), as a mechanical engineer. In 1990 was Deputy Mayor of the town of Vievis; in 1995 was elected member of the Municipal Council of Trakai region, elder of Vievis town. Together with women from Germany participates in a joint programme "A Woman in the Family, Work and Society". Established Vievis Care Centre for children of dysfunctional families and women who experienced violence in 1995. Personal principles: "To strive for justice everywhere and always; to help people disfavoured by fate; belief in the rebirth of real values". A member of the Lithuanian Centre Union. Speaks English and Russian. Married. Has a son and a daughter. Member of the Seimas Delegation to the Assembly of Members of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. Member of the Seimas Delegation to the Interparliamentary Union.
