Biography
Born on 4 September 1952, in Kėdainiai region.
In 1959-1967 - attended an eight-year school, later studied at Radviliškis Technical school, acquired the specialisation of a wood turner. In 1969-1971 - worked as a wood turner on Karolis Požėla collective farm. Served in the Soviet Army. Upon his return from the Soviet Army, worked at the "Progresas" Plant of Metal Constructions in Kėdainiai for 19 years. Finished secondary school while working. Was elected Chairman of the Council of Observers, and Trade Unions of the shop. In 1990 - elected deputy of the Council of Kėdainiai region, member of the Presidium. Member of the Seimas since 1992. Worked in the Committee of Administration Reforms and Self-government Affairs. Was member of the Lithuanian Democratic Labour Party Parliamentary Group since its establishment. Was member of the CPSU. At present - member of the Council of the Lithuanian Democratic Labour Party, its deputy head. Married. Has two sons. Member of the Seimas Delegation to the Baltic Assembly. Member of the Seimas Delegation to the Interparliamentary Union. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with the Knesset of Israel. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with the Republic of Kuwait. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with the Ukraine.
