Graduated from Vilnius Pedagogical Institute (currently - University of Pedagogic), a mathematician. Worked at the Klaipėda Cotton Spinning factory "Trinyčiai."

1965-1990 - teacher of mathematics.

1976 - worked at Klaipėda Secondary school No.29. In 1988 established and headed the Women and Teachers organisation in Klaipėda. Chairman of the Lithuanian Teachers' Trade Union. Participant of the Women's club "Zonta," member of the Council of the Reform Movement Sąjūdis of the city of Klaipėda, Chairman of the Council of Teacher's reform movement of Klaipėda.

1990-1992 - deputy of the Supreme Council - the Reconstituent Seimas.

1992-1996 - member of the Seimas.

Has a daughter who is a student of the Institute Theology and Philosophy.
