Born on 24 April 1941 in Ukmergė region.

In 1960 finished Vidutiškių secondary school.

In 1960-1966 - studied at the Department of Physics of Vilnius University.

In 1966-1968 - a trainee at the same Department.

In 1968-1970 - worked at Venta enterprise and the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences.

In 1970-1990 - an engineer, deputy chief engineer at Nuklonas Plant in Šiauliai.

Author of two scientific inventions in the field of microelectronics. Participated in the Green movement.

In 1990-1992 - Deputy to the Supreme Council - the Reconstituent Seimas. Was Deputy Chairman of the Environmental Protection Committee.

Till 1996 - Deputy mayor of Šiauliai city, Chairman of the City Council Committee of Development of Zokniai Zone. Member of the Homeland Union (Lithuanian Conservatives) , Chairman of the Co-ordination Council of Departments of Šiauliai county.

Likes poetry, history, camping.

Speaks English and Russian languages.

Married. Has two sons.
