In 1977 graduated from the Conservatory of Lithuania (currently - Musical Academy), as an actress. Worked in TV, cinema, radio. Played in films “Arkliavagio duktė”, “Raudonmedžio rojus”, “Čia mūsų namai”, “Skėtis jaunavedžiams”, and others.
Became engaged in a political activity during the period of Lithuanian’s rebirth.
Former member of the CPSU, supported the secession of the Lithuanian Communist Party from the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Was elected member of the Central Committee of the Lithuanian Communist Party at the 22nd Congress of the LCP. Currently - member of the Homeland Union (Lithuanian Conservatives), Chairman of the Conservative Women Council.
In 1990-1992 Deputy to the Supreme Council - the Reconstituent Seimas.
Member of the Seimas since 1996.
Has published articles on the issues of family, children’s upbringing and politics.
Speaks English, Polish and Russian languages.
Married. Has three daughters.
