In 1947 finished Linkuva Secondary school.

In 1952 - graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Agriculture, acquired the specialisation of an engineer. Worked in Akmenė region as an engineer.

In 1953 - studied at the Department of Pedagogic of Moscow Timiriazev Academy of Agriculture.

In 1955 - teacher at Vilnius Technical school of Agriculture Mechanisation.

In 1957 - a post-graduate student, later - teacher, docent, professor, head of the laboratory at the Lithuanian Academy of Agriculture (currently - University of Agriculture). Habil. Doctor of technical Sciences.

Member of the Executive Committee of Lithuanian and the United Nations Association.

Member of the Homeland Union (Lithuanian Conservatives). Member of the Sąjūdis Council of Lithuania.

Speaks Russian and German languages.

Married. Has a daughter and a son.

Member of the Seimas Delegation to the Baltic Assembly.

Member of the Seimas Delegation to the Interparliamentary Union.

Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations between Lithuania and Austria.
