Finished Ukmergės secondary school No. 2 in 1985. In 1985-1987 did military service in the Soviet Army. In 1992 graduated from Vilnius Pedagogical Institute (currently - Pedagogical University). In 1992 - a teacher of physics, geography, working skills at Rečioniai school in Ukmergė region.
A member of the Homeland Union (Lithuanian Conservatives) and in 1993 was elected Chairman of Ukmergė division. On 12 April, 1995 elected Mayor of Ukmergė region.
In his activity devotes the greatest attention to social and unemployment problems of youth. Takes interest in the work of municipalities, issues of environmental protection.
A member of the Lithuanian Union of Scouts.
Speaks Russian and English.
Married. The family has two children.
