Born in Švenčionys on 17 December,1959.

Finished secondary school named after Zigmas Žemaitis in Švenčionys in 1978. In 1983 graduated from Kaunas Polytechnic Institute, the department of Machinery and Automatics of Light Industry as a mechanical engineer.

In 1992 was elected Manager of Švenčioniai region in 1995 - Mayor of the region. Took the course in professional development in the USA and Sweden.

A member of the Lithuanian Liberal Union.

Speaks Russian and German.

Married. Wife Sigutė is an engineer. The family has three daughters.
