In 1967 finished Suginčiai secondary school.

In 1968 - finished technical school and acquired the specialisation of control measuring equipment and metal-worker of automated repair. Worked at the Department of Standardisation Committee as an inspector of control equipment.

In 1991-1993 - Director of Trade Union Palace of Culture.

In 1993-1996 - Vice president of the Lithuanian Labour Union. Member of the State Apartment Privatisation Commission. Member of the editorial board of the newspaper “Lietuvos darbininkas” (‘Worker of Lithuania’). Takes part in the work of the World Confederation of Free Trade Unions. Made reports about the work of trade unions in Slovenia, Poland. Made video films “Women and Labour”, “Give us Work, Bread and Justice”.

Does not belong to any party.

Speaks English and Russian languages.

Divorced. Has a son and a daughter.
