On 14 June, 1941, together with his parents, was deported to Altaj region. In 1947 run away from the exile to Lithuania. Attended Obeliai higher school. On 5 May, 1948 was arrested and deported to Krasnojarsk kraj, the region of Kozačinsko again. A year later moved to the antimony mines in the region of Severo Jenisejsk.
Returned to Lithuania in 1956. Worked in the construction service of Kaunas Hydroelectric Power Plant; in 1958 - in prospecting work; in 1996 - a senior foreman of maintenance shop-work of the Complex Prospecting Expedition. A member of the Council of the Lithuanian Political Prisoners and Deportees Association. A member of the working group of the representatives of the People's Fund (USA) in Lithuania.
A member of the Lithuanian Writers' union.
Speaks Russian. Married. The family has two children.
