Speaker of the Seimas congratulated the Croatian Parliament on Independence Day

Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, on behalf of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and on her own behalf, congratulated the Parliament of Croatia on Independence Day.

In her letter addressed to Gordan Jandroković, Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, Ms Čmilytė-Nielsen highlighted the importance of bilateral parliamentary cooperation.

‘The Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and the Croatian Parliament have enjoyed three decades of cooperation, exchange of views and mutual support in the European Union and NATO on many international issues that are of great importance to our countries. I am convinced that parliamentarians of the Croatian Parliament and the Lithuanian Seimas will continue significantly contributing to the development of the dialogue between both countries,’ noted Ms Čmilytė-Nielsen.

The Speaker of the Seimas also took the opportunity to acknowledge that she had been looking forward to meeting Jandroković at the upcoming High Level Meeting of Speakers of Parliaments of NATO Member Countries in Vilnius at the beginning of June.
