Speaker of the Seimas congratulates the United States on its Independence Day

On behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, sent congratulations to Mike Johnson, Speaker of the Congress of the United States, and to Vice President Kamala Harris, Speaker of the Senate. On the occasion of Independence Day, she wished the members of the Congress and the Senate health, success, unity and peace. 

“We are pleased with the successful bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and the USA. We highly appreciate your position in strengthening the security of our region and, in particular, the presence of American soldiers in Lithuania. The United States has always been and will remain one of Lithuania’s key strategic partners,” said Ms Čmilytė-Nielsen in her letter of congratulations. 
In addition, the Speaker of the Seimas thanked for the support and assistance to Ukraine in the war, the outcome of which will determine a new balance of forces and values.
