Speaker of the Seimas Saulius Skvernelis met with the Ambassador of Israel to Lithuania

Saulius Skvernelis, Speaker of the Seimas, met with Hadas Wittenberg Silverstein, Ambassador of the State of Israel to Lithuania. During the meeting, Mr Skvernelis assured the Ambassador that the newly formed ruling coalition would serve as a reliable partner in maintaining the political, economic and cultural relations between Israel and Lithuania.

‘We recognise the need for closer inter-parliamentary cooperation, which will remain relevant in the future. Rest assured, Your Excellency Ambassador, that we will continue to uphold warm relations in areas such as bilateral economic collaboration, the commemoration of Holocaust victims, and addressing educational challenges,’ said the Speaker of the Seimas during the meeting.

The meeting primarily focused on the regional security situation and the pursuit of peace. ‘Peace is what we all strive for, but it must be just – whether we refer to Ukraine or the Middle East,’ noted the Speaker.
