‘We value the strategic partnership between Japan and Lithuania and are eager to maintain the momentum of our bilateral relations. We welcome the active dialogue on security and defence, as well as the intensifying relations in the fields of economy, research, technology, and culture. We also see Japan as a strong and reliable partner in the implementation of strategic transport infrastructure projects, such as the development of the Klaipėda Seaport and the Rail Baltica Project,’ Mr Skvernelis said.

Lithuania once supported Japan’s candidacy to host the World Expo, which has now become a reality. During the meeting with the Ambassador, the Speaker of the Seimas expressed hope for a smooth preparation process and success at EXPO2025 in Osaka.
