Speaker of the Seimas congratulates the Portuguese people on the Day of Portugal

On behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, congratulated Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues, President of the Assembleia da República, and all the Portuguese people on the Day of Portugal as the national day of the country and conveyed her wishes for every success in attaining the established goals and promoting the country’s well-being.

‘Portugal and Lithuania are successfully developing bilateral relations and cooperation within the European Union and NATO. We are happy to have Portugal as a reliable ally and to agree on key security issues. I take this opportunity to thank Portugal for its contribution to the security of Lithuania and the entire Baltic Sea Region,’ the congratulatory letter of the Speaker of the Seimas reads.
