Speaker of the Seimas congratulates the Unites States on the 245th anniversary of its independence

On behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, has congratulated the Members of the United States Congress and the American people on the 245th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America. She extended her wishes for good health, every success, unity, and peace for all.

In her letter, the Speaker expresses her appreciation of the successful and comprehensive bilateral cooperation and friendly relations between Lithuania and the United States in jointly developing business, education, cultural, science, and innovation initiatives.   

‘Thanks to our common democratic values, we share the same approach to addressing political, economic, defence, energy, historical memory and many other issues on the international agenda. Lithuania highly values the U.S. position of principle on enhancing security in our region and is grateful for the presence of the American troops in our country. This represents not only the expression of solidarity and friendship but also one of the foundations for enhancing security in Lithuania and the whole of Europe,’ the congratulatory letter reads.
