Speaker of the Seimas congratulates Ukraine on the 30th anniversary of its independence

On behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, congratulated Dmytro Razumkov, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and all the people of the country on an important anniversary, as the state is marking 30 years of its independence. 

 

‘Long-lasting and glorious history of Ukraine obliges heads of your country to implement meaningful changes and carry on with a sustainable and consistent reform process. I believe in the determination and unity of your nation in its focussed pursuit of prosperity and wellbeing for Ukraine. Let me wish every success to your country in further building a democratic and modern state,’ the congratulatory letter by the Speaker reads.

 

The Speaker of the Seimas also emphasised a close cooperation between the countries. 

 

‘Lessons of history are of equal importance for our nations; we therefore stand united in fostering and protecting the same values. It is not accidental, therefore, that we are partners and loyal allies on the international arena,’ the Speaker writes.
