Speaker of the Seimas congratulates the Speaker of the Eduskunta of the Republic of Finland

On behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, congratulated Matti Vanhanen on becoming Speaker of the Eduskunta of the Republic of Finland.

‘I wish you every success, as well as meaningful and constructive endeavours in discharging your responsible duties and achieving all the set goals,’ reads the letter by Ms Čmilytė-Nielsen.

The Speaker of the Seimas underlined that Lithuania and Finland enjoyed close bilateral cooperation and constructive inter-parliamentary dialogue.

‘We are engaged in extremely active cooperation in the Nordic-Baltic format with our annual meetings of parliamentary speakers and joint visits. It is without any doubt that we will continue to pursue our activities on the bilateral level and support each other in the framework of our inter-parliamentary relations in multilateral formats,’ says the congratulatory letter.
