Speaker of the Seimas congratulated Israel on Independence Day

On behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, congratulated Mickey Levy, Speaker of the Knesset, and all  people of Israel on Yom Haatzmaut, Independence Day of the State of Israel, and wished them long years of prosperity.

The Speaker emphasized that during the past 30 years, the relations between Israel and Lithuania had expanded, become significantly stronger and matured.

‘Today we speak as two free, developed and democratic states, capable of offering so much to each other. We are interested in developing close and friendly relations between Israel and Lithuania based on our historical and cultural ties.’ writes Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen.
