Speaker of the Seimas: ‘Lithuania calls on Armenia to strengthen its relations with the European Union’

At the meeting with Vahagn Khachaturyan, President of the Republic of Armenia, in Vilnius on 19 April 2023, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, said that Lithuania backed Armenia’s geopolitical shift towards closer cooperation with Europe and the West and supported Armenia’s efforts to protect its sovereignty and carry out democratic reforms.

‘This would add to the security as well as to social and economic resilience of Armenia and the region as a whole. That is why I have called on Armenia to seize all the opportunities for deepening relations with the European Union, including within the framework of the Eastern Partnership policy,’ said Ms Čmilytė-Nielsen.
