Speaker of the Seimas congratulates the Dutch Parliament on King’s Day

On behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, has extended her congratulations to the Dutch Parliament on King’s Day, a national holiday of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. In her letters of congratulations to Prof. Dr Jan Anthonie Bruijn, President of the Senate, and Vera Bergkamp, President of the House of Representatives, the Speaker of the Seimas conveyed her best wishes of success to the Dutch Parliament, whose political leadership contributed to uniting the people of the Netherlands and building the future of the country.

‘Lithuanian society greatly appreciates the involvement of the Dutch troops in the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroup in Lithuania. We enjoy our strong partnership when addressing emerging challenges and celebrate our shared achievements in economic development and resulting from cultural and scientific ties,’ Ms Čmilytė-Nielsen outlined.

The Speaker of the Seimas also expressed her conviction that the Lithuanian and Dutch Parliaments would continue to play an active role in strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries and enhancing democratic values-based international unity.
