Use of the national flag of Lithuania in the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania

The Law on the National Flag and other Flags stipulates that the national flag of Lithuania shall be hoisted near and over the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania on the 24-hour basis. The national flag of Lithuania is displayed on a 24-hour basis in the Plenary Chamber and the offices of the Speaker of the Seimas and Deputy Speakers. The national flag of Lithuania can be displayed on the premises hosting official events of the state or municipal institutions or other official events attended by the Speaker of the Seimas. During a funeral procession of a signatory of the Act of Independence of Lithuania or a Member of the Seimas a coffin is covered with the national flag of Lithuania which is removed before interment and presented to the next of kin after being folded. The Law also defines the use of car and table flags and stipulates that a car flag is used when the car carries the Speaker of the Seimas.

The national flag of Lithuania is hoisted on the 24-hour basis:

• over Building 1 of the Seimas;
• near Building 2 of the Seimas;
• near Building 3 of the Seimas;
• in the Plenary Chamber of the Seimas.

The national flag is displayed in the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania:

• in the office of the Speaker of the Seimas;
• in the offices of Deputy Speakers of the Seimas;
• in the Hall of the Act of 11 March;
• in the Constitution Hall;
• in the Presidential Hall;
• in the Algirdas Mykolas Brazauskas Hall;
• in the Hall of the Baltic Assembly;
• in the European Information Office of the Seimas.
